Summary
Jinwoo knows it won’t be long before his true power fully comes to light and the guilds and association of Korea descend upon him， seeking his allegiance。 Since his training has thus far been a solo endeavor， Jinwoo decides he ought to at least see what an A-rank raid is really like。 Joining the Hunters’ excavation team is the perfect opportunity to assess a high-level guild in action， even if his role is limited to hauling and mining。 That is， until a particularly nasty dungeon boss requires the luggage carrier to step up to carry the team as well！！

It’s still fun， but there were pretty much no stakes in this book， and the MC has become a bit too much of a Mary Sue/Gary Stu。 Needs some real conflict for it to be any interesting again beyond the concept and art。

I forgot about the A rank dungeon plotline， and rereading it I can see why since it's not as big as some of the other plotlines but it's so GOOD， so I'm happy to re-experience it。 I always like the small goofy and moments Jinwoo gets that humanize him and make him so fun and not your typical action manhwa protagonist。 His badass moments are SO badass but his softer moments add so much， and I feel like this volume had a couple of decent ones。Such a solid volume as far as the contained action and I forgot about the A rank dungeon plotline， and rereading it I can see why since it's not as big as some of the other plotlines but it's so GOOD， so I'm happy to re-experience it。 I always like the small goofy and moments Jinwoo gets that humanize him and make him so fun and not your typical action manhwa protagonist。 His badass moments are SO badass but his softer moments add so much， and I feel like this volume had a couple of decent ones。Such a solid volume as far as the contained action and plot in itself， and it sets up what is coming pretty nicely！！！！ 。。。more

I’m sure I mentioned it before， but the transfer from a web interface to this print edition has improved substantially from the first volume。 There are still problems， but nothing that prevents a full experience of the content。 In anticipation of reading this， I thought I would hop onto Tappytoon and reread all the episodes prior to those captured in this volume… Unfortunately， thousands of Tappy coins later， I completed the series。 The art continues to be quite captivating aside from the smeare I’m sure I mentioned it before， but the transfer from a web interface to this print edition has improved substantially from the first volume。 There are still problems， but nothing that prevents a full experience of the content。 In anticipation of reading this， I thought I would hop onto Tappytoon and reread all the episodes prior to those captured in this volume… Unfortunately， thousands of Tappy coins later， I completed the series。 The art continues to be quite captivating aside from the smeared action effects， and the blurring caused by the resizing of panels for the print edition。 The story too remains quite shallow。 There really is little room for ancillary character development or really any development beyond Jinwoo leveling up on the next boss mob as we work our way to a final conflict。 But， if you enjoy a prettily drawn and colored power fantasy series then Solo Leveling may be just what you’re looking for。 。。。more

Jinwoo gets stronger。 Some people who seem strong get in over their heads。 Don’t worry， Jinwoo is here to look cool。 I hope you weren’t expecting much more。Snore。 This is probably in the running with Rent-A-Girlfriend as the most ‘why in the hell am I reading this？’ manga on my current list。 If you like your big， overblown， testosterone-laden male power fantasy where no stakes exist and Jinwoo is a god unto men， here you go。With no proper explanation of what any of this is about， that just gives Jinwoo gets stronger。 Some people who seem strong get in over their heads。 Don’t worry， Jinwoo is here to look cool。 I hope you weren’t expecting much more。Snore。 This is probably in the running with Rent-A-Girlfriend as the most ‘why in the hell am I reading this？’ manga on my current list。 If you like your big， overblown， testosterone-laden male power fantasy where no stakes exist and Jinwoo is a god unto men， here you go。With no proper explanation of what any of this is about， that just gives leeway for things to just be pulled out of the author’s butt at any given moment。 I can barely remember who half this sprawling cast is and so much time is given over to things being slashed over and over and over again that nobody is interesting。A female high rank hunter is introduced and her huge bank of power basically lets her be in awe of Jinwoo and show up late to see how amazing he is and remark that he smells nice。 That’s pretty much par for the course for female characters in this series。There are a couple things that I do like， lest I come off as a total curmudgeon rather than， say， 95% as intended。 This brewing plot line with ants that appear to be humanoid is interesting， a rare moment of suspense before Jinwoo likely wipes out their species in subsequent volumes。We also get to see the acknowledgment that， yes， some of the stronger hunters are actually so powerful that they’re replacing the military or running their own countries。 It’s a little too late to start delving into this， but I was happy to see somebody noticed the power creep finally。If you just want to see a brooding guy who is just getting more and more powerful and stomping everything in his way without a hint of a problem， sure， this fits the bill。 So do a million other stories like it。2。5 stars - I will likely keep up with this just to see what those damn ants are doing。 And it’s not bad if you like this sort of thing， but it is absolutely and completely on autopilot because of how all-powerful its lead is。 。。。more

Ok la fin je m’y attendais pas non plus ！ Il vaut clairement 5 étoiles parce qu’il m’a tenu en haleine tout du long et les rebondissements présents dans ce tome sont vraiment dingue ！ Malheureusement c’est un tome 5 donc je ne peut pas vous en dire plus sans vous spoiler mais Sung devient extrêmement badass 🥰

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 J'adore ce manhwa， autant les dessins， que le plot sont bien ficelés et on sent que le plot a été établi par le roman et non pas construit chapitre par chapitre。 PAR CONTRE， personnellement， je suis déçue par le traitement et le manque d'évolution des protagonistes féminines。。。 Dans ces cinq premiers volumes， toutes les femmes sont assez niaises mis à part la sœur du MC qui tient un rôle dans l'ambition initiale et continue du héros （mais voilà， le problème pour moi c'est que ça s'arrête là， aut J'adore ce manhwa， autant les dessins， que le plot sont bien ficelés et on sent que le plot a été établi par le roman et non pas construit chapitre par chapitre。 PAR CONTRE， personnellement， je suis déçue par le traitement et le manque d'évolution des protagonistes féminines。。。 Dans ces cinq premiers volumes， toutes les femmes sont assez niaises mis à part la sœur du MC qui tient un rôle dans l'ambition initiale et continue du héros （mais voilà， le problème pour moi c'est que ça s'arrête là， autre que d'être sa petite soeur qu'il doit protéger et entretenir， le fait est que son rôle est réduit à celui de "la petite soeur du MC" et elle n'a pas d'importance en soi， pour le moment en tout cas）。 Un autre exemple， Cha Hae In， pourtant Vice-Guild Master， et bien。。 durant tout un volume， c'est juste une jolie fille， on ne la voit pas véritablement à l'action， pour moi l'épisode de la pioche est ridicule et totalement optionnel， ça n'a contribué en rien à l'histoire。 C’est simplement une "potiche" （je n'ai pas fini de lire， je peux me tromper， j'espère d'ailleurs que la suite me donnera tort et que son personnage sera étoffé）。 Je ne vais pas dresser la liste du peu de protagonistes féminines en comparaison aux protagonistes masculins， mais un autre point qui me déçoit beaucoup c'est le manque de diversité dans des classes de ces femmes : ce sont toutes des persos distances mages/healers， c'est des stéréotypes déjà trop recyclés à mon goût。。。 Bref， pas de femmes tank ou DPS corps à corps （encore une fois j'ai envie de dire）。 J'espère de tout coeur que leurs rôles bénéficient d'un développement et qu'ils se diversifient d'ici la fin de la série。Ma critique est un peu longue， mais mis à part celle-ci， j'adore la série et la recommande vivement ！ J'ai toujours donné 5 étoiles aux volumes de Solo Leveling， mais après 4 tomes， je n'arrivais plus à nier la superficialité du traitement des protagonistes féminines， car même en tant que personnages secondaires， elles pourraient faire l'objet de plus de profondeur。 。。。more
